QR: An Avoidance of Queue in Metro

Recently Paytm upgraded its application by introducing a new feature in Metro. For Mumbaikars residing in Central zone, traveling by Metro has become a must. More than lakhs of people travel daily from Ghatkopar to Versova and vice versa. It often becomes challenging in rush hours to catch a metro. Unlike the local trains having a halt at source and destination for a minimum of 5-6 minutes,  a metro halts for hardly 2-3 minutes.  To resolve this issue and save a considerable amount of time, the Paytm app came up with a newly added feature of “METRO QR TICKET”.

However what many people still don’t know is that if you have updated paytm application installed in your Android Smartphone, you can use this feature and save a considerable amount of time by avoiding to stand in a queue at the Metro Station. Let’s have a look at how this feature works.

Here is a step by step guide how to obtain a metro ticket from paytm’s Metro QR Ticket in just 2 minutes:

Step 1:

Open the Paytm application installed in your android smartphone.

Then Select Destination Station by taping on the name of the station mentioned in the list, as it will show in the blue printed subtitle ” From Src -> To?”

Step 6:

Select the type of journey by taping on the mentioned options:- Single Journey/Return Journey.

Note: If the total number of passengers is more than one, you can simply tap on the “+” button on the right-hand side of the corner of the “Number of Passenger(s)” text.

Step 7:

After selecting the Type of Journey, tap on “Proceed To Pay Rs.X” button.

After this, it will Confirm your QR Ticket by showing a message “ Fetching QR Ticket of Rs. X“.

Even though it may seem like a long process from the steps mentioned above, trust me it takes less than 5 minutes.

Myself have earned cash-backs through this feature and I am used to to this as it has formed a habit and a smarter way to avoid stands in Queue at Metro Stations.

Many times the Queue at Metro stations for tickets during peak hours is so large that it takes a minimum of 10-15 minutes to ensure the ticket in your hand. Besides these, there are also security check posts at Metro stations, which snatch 5 minutes extra before the commencement of the journey.

The paytm app may be a bit late to bring this feature, but it has surely arrived with one of the major time saving updations in METRO feature. The major advantage of this feature is that you can use this anytime and anywhere just ensuring uninterrupted internet connectivity in your android smartphone and enough balance in your paytm wallet/account. As paytm comes up with everyday cashback offers, if you do a transaction of a minimum of Rs 40 through Paytm, using this feature, you get a cashback of 10-20% of your transacted amount.
